The Soft Turning: Solstice, Cycles, and the Sacred Feminine
The Soft Turning: Solstice, Cycles, and the Sacred Feminine
Every year as we approach the Winter Solstice, something shifts… Not just in the light around us, but in the deeper, quieter places inside us.
The days shorten, the air stills, and nature does what it always does:
She turns inward.
She rests.
She prepares.
This time of year is often portrayed as a flurry of holiday activity, but energetically it’s meant to be the opposite. Winter, and especially the Solstice, marks the beginning of the inward cycle, the season of the Sacred Feminine: stillness, intuition, reflection, and the fertile dark where new visions take root.
Understanding this matters, because our bodies and our rhythms are not separate from nature. Many women feel tired, reflective, or sensitive during these darker months not because they’re “off,” but because they’re finally syncing with a natural cycle that invites slowness.
The end of the year is not a time for pushing; it’s a time for listening.
It’s a time for softness.
It’s a time for remembering what’s true.
Over the coming year, I’ll be creating and sharing a new offering — an Embodied Sacred Feminine Ritual — that honors this cyclical wisdom through movement, breath, and intentional ceremony. It’s something I’ve been called to build for a while, and 2026 will be the year I bring it fully to life.
But you don’t have to wait for a workshop to begin reconnecting to this energy.
Below is a simple at-home Solstice-inspired ritual you can do any time this month to help you soften, ground, and feel more connected to your inner rhythm.
A Simple At-Home Winter Ritual
What you’ll need:
- A candle
- A quiet space
- A journal or piece of paper
- Optional: a cozy blanket, soft music, warm tea
Step 1 — Settle
Sit comfortably, place one hand over your heart and one over your lower belly.
Take slow breaths, lengthening your exhale.
Feel your body soften.
Step 2 — Reflect
Ask yourself:
- What am I carrying that feels heavy or outdated?
- Where have I been pushing too hard?
- What truth wants my attention as this year comes to a close?
Let your answers come gently.
Step 3 — Release
Write down one thing you’re ready to release.
Fold the paper and place it under the candle.
Light the candle with the intention:
“I clear space so something new can grow.”
Step 4 — Receive
Place your hands on your body again and ask:
What feeling, quality, or energy do I want more of in the new cycle?
Let it arrive intuitively.
No forcing, no planning- only receiving.
Step 5 — Seal
Take one more slow breath.
Blow the candle out with gratitude and trust.
You don’t need a perfect space or perfect mindset to do this.
The Sacred Feminine isn’t about performing ritual, it’s about remembering yourself.
As we move through the darkest nights toward the return of the light, I hope this practice supports you in slowing down, softening inward, and reconnecting with your own quiet truth. And in the new year, I cannot wait to share more about the ritual work I’m creating. Practices that honor cycles, embodiment, intuition, and the kind of deep inner connection so many of us are craving.
The turning is happening.
Let it be gentle. 🌙✨
